How I Will Grow A Brand New Blog To $10,000 Per Month Using Pinterest In 2019 Within 12 Months

Ever imagine what it would be like to work from home and to have full control over your own time?

To finally be able to spend your time however you please?

It’s something many only dream about, but it’s not as unrealistic as it may seem.

In fact, there’s already hundreds of thousands of people making a living online (including myself), and many more joining each year.

There’s one problem, however…

While there are plenty of folks making a living online, very few actually genuinely show you how it’s done, and if they do, they only show you part of it.

However, that all changes as of today.

I’m going to start a completely new blog, completely from scratch, and grow it to $10,000 per month focusing on Pinterest traffic in 2019.

The kind of money that’ll set you up to quit your job.

The best part is that I’m going to show you the exact website I’m going to set up, and which strategies I’m going to use to grow it from day 1…

You’ll be able to follow along from the first day the blog get set up…

To when it gets its first visitor…

To when it makes its first dollar…

And to when it eventually matures into a business worthy of quitting your job for.

I’m going to attempt to do this all within 12 months…

And I’m going to call it the $10,000 “Quit Your Job” Challenge.

Unlike other “gurus” out there who show you just enough and then force you to buy their course…

I’m going to take you along from day 1 and show you every SINGLE THING…

Every single-freakin’ step, completely for free.

You’ll be able to replicate my case study every step of the way and build out your own blog and grow it to the point where you’ll be ready to quit your job as well, like I did in 2015.

And we all know that $10,000 per month is the magic number that allows most of us to quit our jobs and live the life that we want.

So if you’re anything like me and you’re sick of…

  • All the generic advise out there...
  • The thousands of lame blog post claiming to teach you "5 Ways of Growing Your Blog Traffic" without anything to back it up...
  • Finally finding some content that looks half decent, but then ends up being dated from 2015 so you have no idea if any of those tactics still work today

Make sure you pop in your email below so that I can keep you up to date on this case study as it progresses…

And actually get some actionable content that you can implement yourself!

So you might be wondering why I specifically picked $10,000 per month in 12 months of time.

The reason I picked $10,000 is quite simple actually.

This is what it takes for most people to be confident in quitting their jobs.

To finally be able to say “Adios Amigo!” to their boss, and start living life on their own terms…

It’s exactly the number it took me to get to finally have the guts to quit my job back in 2015. I’ve never looked back since.

I also feel that 12 months, although aggressive, is a pretty realistic timeframe to achieve that in.

It’s definitely doable if you follow the right steps, stay focussed, and don’t get distracted along the way.

What You Can Expect From This Case Study

Unlike others out there, my plan is to show you every single step as I build and grow a new blog to $10,000 per month.

All within 12 months using primarily Pinterest as a traffic source, of course.

Topics I’ll be covering in detail are as follows. This list will likely grow as the case study progresses and we build out the blog.

  • Using Pinterest to identify niches with high potential and selecting one that we'll be for this case study - even if we aren't experts ourselves.
  • Finding high trafficked and low-competition keywords on Pinterest to build content around to help us get traffic early on.
  • Identifying competitor content that has done well on Pinterest and use this as inspiration for our own content.
  • Using Carly Campbell's Pinteresting Strategies course to develop our Pinterest account and start exploding Pinterest traffic.
  • Growing site traffic to the point where we are able to monetize using CPM ads (initially through Mediavine but preferably through AdThrive once we reach enough traffic)
  • Creating an email marketing strategy to grow, give value to, and eventually monetize our email list with relevant affiliate offers.
  • Create our own digital and/or physical products that serve our new community to bring income to the next level while establishing ourselves as an authority blog in the niche.
  • Optimize the site by conducting conversion rate optimization to make sure we are getting the most out of the traffic that we have on the site.
  • Potentially divest the website for a handsome profit so that we can focus our time & efforts on other projects.

Why On Earth Should I Listen To You?

So you might be wondering…

What makes you think you’re so special Tim that you’re qualified to teach me about building a blog!?

And you’re right to ask me this question.

I would do the same, given how many self-proclaimed gurus are out there.

While I’m by no means an expert on creating traffic from Pinterest.

In fact, I’m a complete noob when it comes to Pinterest.

I do have a fair amount of experience building blogs and online businesses in general (you can read all about it on my about page).

After years of trying, I was finally able to quit my job in 2015 through blogging and various other online ventures and have been self-employed ever since.

I can’t tell you how good it felt to finally have full control over my time and I could spend it how I saw fit.

Without wanting to toot my own horn, and just so you know that I’m legit, I’ll post a few screenshots below.

And again, just so that we’re all on the same page… I’m not doing this to show-off at all.

In fact, I think there’s nothing worse than seeing all those online gurus flaunting their rented Ferrarris and knock-off Rolex watches.

It’s just so disingenuous.

However, the level of trust online these days is very low so I feel that just to show you that I have somewhat of an idea what I’m talking about.

My 2-Comma Club Award from Clickfunnels

Awkward picture of me being proud with my 2-Comma Club Award from Clickfunnels.

There ya have it, folks…

My award for curing world hunger, poverty, and global warming all at once.

Nah, just kidding.

It’s actually just a trophy that Clickfunnels (which is a website building software) gives to anyone that has driven more than $1,000,000 in sales within a single year.

I was lucky enough to achieve that in 2017 with one of my sales funnels that I developed on their platform.

Below is a screenshot from Stripe (my payment processor at the time) showing the revenue that we did for that same time period.

Before I started working online, I could have never dreamed that these kinds of numbers were remotely even possible.

A lot of the traffic here was driven using Facebook ads and other forms of paid traffic.

I was skeptical when I saw numbers like these posted by other bloggers and business owners and never truly believed them – until I managed to get to that level myself.

However, ultimately, this was a business I did not have a passion in and one that started deteriorating with updates in the Facebook ads algorithm.

As a result, I decided to capitalize on the work I had done and sell that site back in 2018.

This just shows you how you can never get complacent and always have to be working to improve yourself and your business if you want to be there for the long-haul.

My Current Affiliate Sites

I also have a number of affiliate sites that are ranking using Google SEO and make their money predominantly through Amazon Affiliate and AdThrive (CPM Ads).

For the time being, I’m not going to reveal the exact URL of these sites simply because they are my bread & butter and I know how quickly folks will start copying it.

But, just to show you I’m not pulling the wool over your eyes, below is the picture the Amazon affiliate earnings of one of my sites.

And some traffic stats for good measure…

So now that we have that awkward conversation out of the way…

Hopefully you’ll believe me when I say I have at least some idea of what I’m talking about.

Even if it’s only an itty-bitty tiny little bit…

Now, let’s get into the meat of it a little bit more in terms of how we’re going to tackle this project.

Why Start A New Blog Case Study In 2019?

You may be wondering that given my other businesses above why on earth I’m starting a case study for the world to see…

…and that’s a pretty fair question.

The reality is that I’m an extreme procrastinator and when the option of watching Netflix vs. working on my business presents itself, I tend to choose the former.

This has happened way too frequently…

Especially now since I’ve built up a bit of a slush fund after the sale of the business I mentioned above, there’s a lot less urgency for me now.

A friend of mine, Adam from LifeHackerGuy, mentioned to me that he was having similar issues with procrastination.

He started a blog and case study documenting how he’s going to launch a supplement brand, and it has really helped his motivation.

That’s why, in order to keep myself accountable to and work towards something productive as opposed to wasting my days watching Netflix and cute cat videos on YouTube, I figured…

“Why not create a blog with a live case study and actually create some accountability while at the same time try to help others who have been struggling with this?”

That sounded like a win-win to me.

Furthermore, there’s way too few actual case studies out there that aren’t either filled with a bunch of fluff, or are basically a pitch fest for whatever course is being sold.

Why Pinterest Instead Of Google (Advantages of Pinterest)

I’ll be honest with you.

I’m absolutely sick of using Google as my primary traffic source for the simple fact that:

  1. It takes a near-eternity to get any traffic from Google
  2. You have to jump through all sorts of hoops to get links to your site – and even then there’s no guarantee
  3. I’ve had a number of my sites seen penalized with recent algorithm updates – effectively wiping out all income they were making

So instead of relying on Google for my traffic, I felt like trying something else, and build and grow a site to $10,000 a month with the aim of having Pinterest drive the bulk of my traffic.

In fact, there’s many bloggers out there who have done very well, very quickly, using Pinterest as their primary strategy for traffic generation such as:

  1. Ell Duclos who grew her Pinterest to 1.6M views a month
  2. Sara who primarily used Pinterest traffic to grow her blog to $3,878 per month in only 3 months
  3.  Elna Cain using Pinterest traffic to make money

I will be following along with them closely and using their stories as motivation as I’m completing this journey.

Going through their stories it’s clear that Pinterest one big advantage over Google when it comes to launching a new blog and growing your traffic quickly.

Unlike Google, Pinterest doesn’t care about how long a blog has been around and how authoritative it is.

This means that if you start a new blog, you still have a good chance of getting traffic to your blog as long as you produce content that does well on Pinterest.

My goal is to prove that this is still possible in 2019 and I’m going to be as transparent as possible to you to show you precisely what it takes to get there.

Am I Going To Achieve My Goal Of $10,000 Per Month?

Given how fast stuff changes in the online world, no one can truly answer that question.

One day one a particular strategy works very well, and then suddenly the next day it stops working.

What I can say, is that I’m going to give it a pretty damn good go and that I’m feeling pretty optimistic about it.

The most important thing for me is to remain focussed on this project and be held accountable to keep it going.

For that I need your help…
